Shera di kaum Punjabi introspects and questions.... which Rajiv Gandhi confidante coined the phrase "Teach Sikhs a lesson"

Anti Sikh pogrom in 1984 Oct 31, Nov 1 and Nov 2, New Delhi and in some other places like Kanpur, Indore etc in Northern India resulted in the cold-blooded massacre of about 4000 Sikhs. Ever since post-partition riots in 1947, the country has never witnessed such large scale, one-sided killings carried out with clinical precision. The killer rioters were provided with weapons, liquor and in many cases led by prominent Congress leaders such as Sajjan Kumar, Lalit Maken, Jagdish Tytler, HKL Bhagat, Arjan Das etc and many of them became Members of Parliament and ministers in the Rajeev Gandhi government in 1985.
Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister, was murdered by two of her handpicked Sikh bodyguards who were retained by the PM despite the objection raised by the security department. During the entire decade of seventies, Indira Gandhi and her self-appointed heir-apparent son Sanjay Gandhi had accorded a prominent position for Punjabis, both Sikhs and non-Sikhs, in the affairs of New Delhi, both in the Central Government and other Government apparatus:- Pritam Singh Bhinder was the Commissioner of Police in New Delhi who ensured large scale recruitment of Punjabis in New Delhi Police. Yashpal Kapoor and Dhawan were holding sway in the Prime Ministers Office(PMO) and the Punjabis enjoyed tremendous clout in the Government in New Delhi under Indira Gandhi
