Movie review Waterworld

Movie review Waterworld

"Waterworld" is a science fiction action film released in 1995, directed by Kevin Reynolds and starring Kevin Costner as the main character, a lone drifter named "The Mariner." The film is set in a future where the polar ice caps have melted, causing the Earth to be covered in water and most of the land to be submerged. The Mariner lives on a trimaran and is searching for dry land, which is rumored to exist somewhere in the world.

Along the way, he encounters a young woman named Helen (Jeanne Tripplehorn) and her young charge, Enola (Tina Majorino), who are being pursued by a group of villains led by the Deacon (Dennis Hopper). The Mariner helps Helen and Enola escape, and together they set off in search of the mythical land of Dryland.

"Waterworld" was a commercial success at the box office but received mixed reviews from critics. Some praised the film's ambitious vision and special effects, while others criticized its thin plot and overly long runtime.
